The Passing Of An Icon: Lena Horne


Before Angela Bassett or Halle Berry there was the legendary actress and singer Lena Horne. The ground breaking actress and civil rights activist died at the age of 92 on Sunday May 8, in New York.

The Tony-nominated actress paved the way for all African-American actresses in Hollywood. In 1942, the icon was the first African-American performer to land a major studio contract. She was known for her stunning beauty as well as her extraordinary acting roles in " Stormy Weather", "Ziegfield Follies " and Callypso".

Horne is the epitome of Hollywood glamour and her elegance will surely be miss.
